Chennai: The lockdown period may be extended in view of the ever increasing cases of corona in Tamil Nadu. State CM MK Stalin has hinted at this on Saturday. At the same time, no exemption will be given during this period. Stalin held a meeting with a team of health experts, after which he hinted at this in a meeting with members of different parties at the secretariat.
Earlier, the state government had decided to impose a lockdown by May 24. Which expires tomorrow. According to reports, the government may soon announce the extension of the period. During the meeting, Stalin said, "Health experts believe that the only way to stop corona speed in the state is strict lockdown. I have received the same suggestions during my visit to different districts. In view of the situation, the government has to decide to impose a total lockdown in the state without any relaxation." At the same time, he said that there has been a slight reduction in corona cases, but it has still not been controlled.
He further said that before this, the government had given some concessionkeeping in view of the convenience of the people. But many took advantage of it and violated lockdown rules. He said, "The complete lockdown in the province is for the benefit of saving people's lives and for their own benefit. This causes a lot of pain when some people don't understand this. They think these are holiday days. But I want to tell them that this is not a holiday but a corona season and we need to be vigilant".
