Tamil Nadu Governor pays floral tributes to Swami Vivekananda’s statue

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi paid floral tributes to Swami Vivekananda's monument at the Vivekanda Illam here on Sunday to commemorate the 125th anniversary of Swamiji's return from Chicago following his historic address at the Parliament of the World's Religions.

The Governor paid a visit to the Vivekananda Illam, where he observed childhood exhibits and photos from various stages of Swamiji's life, according to a release from the Raj Bhavan. The Governor also prayed in Swami Vivekananda's meditating room, where he stayed for nine days after his return from Chicago.

In a statement, the Governor stated that the most fitting tribute to Swamiji would be to establish the India of his dreams, which would be socially cohesive and Atmanirbhar.

On the occasion, Swami Goutamanandaji Maharaj, Vice President of Sri Ramakrishna Math and Mission, Justice K. Chandru, Retired Madras High Court Judge, and K.N. Ramaswamy, Director, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan were also present.
