Tata launches its second mass-market EV, priced at ₹11.99 lakhs

The Tata Tigor EV is Tata Motors' second mass-market electric car in India. The base XE trim of the electric Tigor starts at 11.99 lakh ex-showroom. Tata Motors' Tigor EV comes in three variants, with the top-spec dual-tone trim costing a hefty 13.14 lakh. The following are the pricing for the Tata Tigor EV:

Tata Tigor EV XE: ₹11.99 lakh
Tata Tigor EV XM: ₹12.49 lakh
Tata Tigor EV XZ+: ₹12.99 lakh
Tata Tigor EV XZ+ Dual Tone: ₹13.14 lakh

The Tigor EV receives a 4-star NCAP safety certification for adults and children, showing Tata's commitment to safety. The Tata Tigor EV's battery pack shell is impact-resistant and meets AIS – 048 requirements for nail penetration at the cell level.
The Tata Tigor EV's battery pack is a 26-kWh liquid-cooled, high-energy-density battery pack with an IP67 rating, making it weatherproof. The electric motor produces 74 horsepower and 170 Nm of peak torque, with a range of 302 kilometres as verified by ARAI.

Speaking about the newly-launched Tata Tigor EV, Shailesh Chandra, President, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit at Tata Motors said, "EVs are fast gaining popularity on the back of rising comfort of customers, as the barriers to adoption are being overcome and due to growing preference for environmentally friendly solutions. This has been spearheaded by our very own Nexon EV, which today is the most popular EV in the Indian market."
