Amaravati: N. Chandrababu Naidu, the Telugu Desam Party's (TDP) national president and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's decision to repeal three controversial agriculture regulations on Friday.

Chandrababu Naidu believes the Prime Minister made the right option in response to the protesting farmers' continuing rallies against the rules. In a statement, Naidu said that in the best interests of farmers, the Andhra Pradesh government should reverse its decision on three state capitals.

Naidu went on to say that the long-cherished desire of Amaravati farmers and the entire state should be realised, noting that it was critical since Amaravati will play a significant part in the state's generation of wealth and job possibilities. The TDP leader further noted that Amaravati farmers have been conducting protests in Andhra Pradesh for the past 700 days, sacrificing 34,000 acres for the development of the state capital. He said that the Amaravati farmers' 'Maha Padayatra' had received a huge response.

According to Naidu, the then-opposition leader declared his support for the Amaravati capital in the state Assembly, suggesting that the capital should be developed over 30,000 acres.
