Lucknow: A case of student being shot dead in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj has come to light. The student had gone to meet his girlfriend at his house in the morning. There has been an uproar in the area after the incident. Locals said that on hearing the sound of gunfire in the morning, they came out of their houses and saw that the body of the blood-soaked student was lying. After some time, it was found that his girlfriend was also lying in an injured state on the roof of the house. The family immediately rushed the girl to a nearby hospital where her condition remains critical.   

During investigation, the police came to know that there was a love affair between the deceased student and the injured student. The body of the student has been taken into custody and the police have sent it for post-mortem and the student is undergoing treatment at a private hospital. An inquiry has been initiated after receiving complaints from both sides. On getting information about the incident, the SP also rushed to the spot and spoke to the families of the two. SSP Ajay Kumar said that both the deceased Arunav Singh and the injured girl Urvashi were studying in Inter at Maharishi Vidya Mandir Inter College, PDA Colony in Naini. There was a love affair going on between the two. The girl's father is a dhaba operator and also has a licensed pistol.

Who shot the lovebird is not yet clear. The deceased student's father told police that his son used to go for a morning walk at 4 am every day. At 7 pm, he received information over the phone that his son had been shot by someone. Since then, the family has been crying. SSP Ajay Kumar said that the girl's father is a native of Kanti village police station Kondhiara and runs a dhaba. He came back from the dhaba at 10 pm and put his licensed gun in the room and went to sleep. At three o'clock in the morning, the girl said that she had pain in her stomach and was going to the bathroom. During this time he reached the roof. Then on hearing the sound of the bullet, the family members woke up, then they went to the roof and saw that they were lying in an injured condition and her lover died of a bullet injury.   Police say the case will be resolved soon.
