A priest was stabbed to death with a sharp weapon in the Maharajganj Kotwali area on Saturday night. When the villagers reached the temple on Sunday morning, his body was found soaked in blood inside the mosquito net in the cot. The murder of the priest created a sensation in the village. Police reached the spot and gathered evidence and recorded the statements of the villagers and are trying to find out the reason behind the priest's murder. Ahorva Pal, son of 62-year-old Satrohan Pal, a resident of Madan Khera Majre Pokhuri village in Maharajganj Kotwali area, was a priest. As usual, on Saturday evening, at around 8:00 pm, he had gone to sleep at the temple built in the fields outside the village after having dinner.
When the grandson of the deceased went to call him for tea in the morning, he saw that his father was murdered and lying on a blood-soaked cot. He panicked to see all this and ran towards the house screaming. Hundreds of people from the village gathered and reached the spot and saw the priest's body lying on a blood-soaked cot. Police, who reached the spot, inspected the spot closely and started questioning the family members and villagers in this regard. Police said that the temple was built by Satrohan and idols of Hanuman Ji and other gods were installed in it. The police have taken the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem. In the operation so far, the police have not found any clues to find out what led to the priest's murder.
