Her teachers and friends at school insisted to learn professional music. Under the training and guidance of Late Pandit Kripa Shankar Tiwari Ji, Dr. Menka Mishra learned classical music and gave the entrance for Akashwani. That’s how her musical career took off and we know her as an established name in the music industry.

She has recorded various songs with artists like Shaan, Jaspinder Narula, Kumar Vishnu, Udit Narayan, etc. Menka Mishra has also done performances on national channels such as Zee Tv, ETV, etc.

Menka Mishra is a well-known personality today. She is an award-winning singer who has won various titles, prizes, and appreciation certificates so far. Her songs are also played on devotional channels like Satsang, Sahara TV, Aastha, etc. She has also judged a TV program called “Folk Jalwa” on ETV. Menka Mishra has received various certificates of appreciation. She has received a certificate of appreciation for performing Ghazal at “Jagjit Singh Ghazal Night” in Allahabad in the year 2005. Menka has also received an awarded certificate of appreciation from “Music Care Academy”. She is the winner of many more wards and titles. She has been awarded the “Top 50 Indian Icon Awards” in the year 2017. She has also received appreciation for musical presentations at the All India University Youth Campaign held at Pondicherry in the year 2003. A song sung, written, and composed by Menka Mishra titled “Saawre Piya”, taken from “Thumri Ang” will be released very soon. It is going to be in modern music style and will be released under a big banner. A Sufi composition of medieval poet Malukdas Ji, which has been composed with a new style of music, titled “Almast Fakira” could be heard by the audience very soon. A romantic Ghazal by Menka Mishra titled, “Pyar Karun Tujhse”.
