Dehradun: The weather continues to be bad in many areas of Uttarakhand even today. Champawat, Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar are expected to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours. In view of this, weather experts have issued a yellow alert. Not only this, there is a possibility of rain from the plains to the mountains within the next 24 hours. Director of Meteorological Centre Vikram Singh said heavy rainfall is expected in Champawat, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar. Light to moderate rain accompanied by strong thundershowers is expected in the remaining districts. The sky in the capital Dehradun will be cloudy.  

At the same time, a car got stuck in the swollen Bean river in Rishikesh on Monday night. There were two persons from Noida and one from Rishikesh in the car. As soon as the information was received, the SDM team reached the spot and pulled out the car. At present, the water level of ganga is increasing. Ganga is flowing 80 metres below the warning level. After the rains, the water level of Jakhan, Saung, Suswa, Bean and Chandrabhaga rivers has also increased. A total of 229 roads, including 14 state highways, were blocked due to debris and boulders on the roads after heavy rains in the same state. On Monday, 86 roads were opened. 297 JCB machines were pressed into service to open the roads. Due to continuous rains, problems are being faced in the work of opening the roads.

According to a report received, 14 state highways, 7 main district roads, 9 other district roads, 73 rural roads and 126 PMGSY roads are closed in the state. The major blocked state routes include Kamad-Ayarkhal motor way, Lambgaon-Ghansali, Rudraprayag-Pokhari Gopeshwar marg, Birhi-Gouna motor way, Tharali-Dewal-Van marg, Karanprayag-Kandara-Sonla route, Gauchar-Sidauli motor way, Tehri-Ghansali-Tilwara route, Khirsu-Khankra motor way, Makku-Bheeri route etc.
