Bhopal: Panchayat and municipal body elections in Madhya Pradesh have been announced. But in 3 districts of Madhya Pradesh, Alirajpur, Dindori and Mandla, elections to the civic body will not be held. The State Election Commission has announced the poll schedule for the remaining 49 districts of Madhya Pradesh. Municipal body elections are being held in the State in two phases.  

The first phase of polling will be held on July 6 and the second phase on July 13. The first phase of counting will be held on July 17 and the second phase on July 18. The schedule for the civic body elections has also been announced after the Panchayat elections in Ujjain. Political parties are gearing up for the elections.

On the other hand, elections to the civic body are not going to be held in 3 districts of Madhya Pradesh. These districts are Mandla, Dindori and Alirajpur. According to the officials of the Election Commission, the election schedule of the civic body of the three districts has not been announced. Apart from these, election schedules for 49 districts have been announced. Officials said that the term of the civic body of the three districts is yet to be completed, due to which elections are not being held there. Alirajpur SP Manoj Kumar Singh said that preparations are on in full swing for the panchayat elections. He also said that the term of the civic body is coming to an end in September. That is why elections to the civic body are not taking place here.
