Shabana Azmi

Shabana Azmi was first signed act in Deepa Mehta directed movie Water. The movie was based on the lives of the widow. So, Shabana had to shave her hair. Unfortunately, the movie attracted many controversies and Shabana opted out of the movie.

Tanuja

The legendary actress, Tanuja took the brave step of shaving her head off for her Marathi film Pitruroon to go into the skin of the character.

 Tanvi Azmi

Tanvi was seen in the role of a Maratha widow in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Bajirao Mastani' for which she had gone bald in reality. She played Ranveer Singh's character's mother in the film.

 Anushka Sharma

Anushka shaved her head for her role in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Her character, which was a cancer patient, demanded her to go bald. The actress took it up as a challenge and sported it beautifully.

Nandita Das

The very talented actress shaved off her hair for the same project with Shabana Azmi. She too opted out later as the controversy over the movie led to the makers indefinitely stalling the shoot of the film.
