The final list of candidates for the upcoming Thengal Kachari Autonomous Council (TKAC) elections, which will be place on January 20, was just revealed for four seats in Golaghat subdivision and one constituency in Dhanshiri subdivision. Because no candidate withdrew his nomination form until the last day of nomination, a total of 13 candidates are confirmed to be competing.

In the 11 No. Thengal Kamargaon constituency, BJP candidate Harprabha Thangal will face off against Congress candidate Bipin Bara, while in the Kachamari constituency reserved for women in Golaghat subdivision, Congress candidate Janhvi Saikia, Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) Shikhamani Thangal Baruah, and independent candidate Parismita Thongal will face off. In the 14th Chaudang Pathar seat, BJP's Smritirekha Thengal, Congress' Chaya Thangal, and CPI's Bhaskar Thengal were chosen, while BJP's Padmaeshwar Saikia and Congress' Utpal Thangal were chosen for the 15th Chaudang Pathar Daiyang constituency.

Hiranya Bora of the Congress, Minali Hazarika Saikia of the BJP, and Narayan Bora of the Aam Aadmi Party will contest the 12 No. Gelabil seat in the Dhansiri subdivision. On January 20, polling will be held for all five seats in the district from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. If necessary, voting will be done again on January 22 at any centre. Votes will be counted beginning at 8 a.m. on January 24.
