The rail of expectations has started running again after the unprecedented nationwide closure of trains between lockdowns from Tuesday. A total of eight Rajdhani special trains started from Delhi, Mumbai, Howrah, Ahmedabad, Patna and Bengaluru on Tuesday. After 50 days, three special trains from New Delhi railway station, carrying about three and a half thousand passengers left for their destination stations.

New Delhi-Vilaspur Rajdhani Express became the first train to run after detention. Before sitting in the trains, their goods were sanitized with strict scrutiny. When railway passengers reached their destination stations, the decision to deliver them to their homes or to quarantine etc. was left to the respective state governments.

A total of 1177 passengers on 741 PNR tickets are traveling in the first train leaving Rajdhani to Bilaspur. Whereas in Dibrugarh Rajdhani Express, a total of 1122 passengers are going on 442 PNR tickets. From New Delhi-Bangalore Rajdhani Express train, 1162 passengers started the journey on 804 PNR tickets. All the passengers arriving at the station were asked to download the Arogya Setu application, of which almost all of them answered yes.
