A truck carrying 63 Muslim children was caught in Kolhapur, the driver ran away after questioning

Mumbai: Maharashtra Police on Wednesday (May 17) intercepted a truck carrying 63 minor Muslim boys in Kolhapur city. The age of these Muslim boys is between 7 to 13 years. All these children are from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. These were brought to the city from Bihar via train.

 

 

According to media reports, these boys were being sent to a madrassa at Ajra in Kolhapur district for Islamic training. The incident came to light when Vijayendra Mane, a member of a Hindu outfit, expressed suspicion after seeing the truck in Ruikar Colony in the city. On asking the truck driver, he fled from the spot. After this, Mane's suspicion became stronger. Vijayendra Mane informed the police and other members of Hindu organizations about this. The people of the Hindu organization have demanded strict action from the police in this matter.

The police took the children into custody and examined the train tickets handed over to them by some unknown persons. During interrogation, the minor boys have told that some of them are from Bihar, some from Uttar Pradesh and some from West Bengal. Hinduist organizations have raised many questions regarding this incident. He asked many pertinent questions – who are these children, why had they come to Kolhapur, were they forced to come here, why were they being taken in the truck etc. Organizations also expressed concern about the safety of children.
