Lucknow: A shocking case of shooting dead two brothers in a property dispute in Deoria, Uttar Pradesh has come to light. Six people are said to be injured in the shooting incident. Police rushed to the spot on receiving the information and launched an investigation. Police have detained eight persons and are interrogating them. Police force has been deployed in view of the tense atmosphere in the village.

The case pertains to Chakra Nonar village under Thana Barhaj. The firing took place on Tuesday morning during an assault between the two sides over an old dispute. Ramesh Yadav was reportedly cleaning in front of the house. Meanwhile, the other side Hansnath Yadav went there and started opposing it. Soon a quarrel broke out between the two sides and the matter escalated to assault. Hansnath Yadav and Baijnath Yadav then fired indiscriminately with licensed guns. Kokil and Ramesh died on the spot.

Several people were injured in the firing, who were admitted to the district hospital for treatment. Doctors have referred four people to medical college Gorakhpur in view of the critical condition. The family members of the deceased say that there is a brahmabhoj at their house due to which cleanliness was being carried out. That's where the other side accused us of occupying the land. There was some talk and two people were killed.
