New Delhi: The fighter helicopter allegedly planted by the Taliban in Afghanistan does not belong to the Indian Air Force. This statement has come from the Indian Ministry of External Affairs. The war going on between the Taliban and the Afghan army is an internal matter of Afghanistan says the foreign ministry.
Elaborating on the same situation, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said, "The situation on the ground is developing. That helicopter did not belong to the Indian Air Force. All I can say is that this is an internal matter of Afghanistan and I would not like to comment on that issue. On Wednesday, the Taliban reportedly took control of one of the four MiG-24V helicopters gifted by India to Afghanistan Sir Force in 2019 after the Taliban captured the Kunduz airbase.
The same Russian-designed MiG-24V attack helicopter has been designated as MiG-35 for export. Apart from this, a video has also surfaced on social media, in which a member of the Taliban is seen walking around the attack helicopter at Kunduz airbase. However, it was found in the video that many important parts of the helicopter are missing. It is learned that in October 2019, the Indian Ambassador to Afghanistan Vinay Kumar handed over the MiG-24V helicopter to the Afghan National Defense Minister Asadullah Khalid at the Kabul Air Force Base.
