Lucknow: The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has arrested three more persons in a major crackdown on radical Islamic conversions across the country, including Uttar Pradesh. The investigating agency said the accused were funding through a ''trust'' from abroad along with the conversion.

According to the report, ATS said in a statement that the men had received money through trust along with illegal conversions. The investigating agency has arrested two accused Mohammad Idrees and Mohammed Saleem from Muzaffarnagar in UP and Kunal Ashok Chaudhary alias Atif, a resident of Nashik in Maharashtra. Talking about the incident, UP Government Information Advisor Shalabhamani Tripathi said, "ATS is constantly WORKING under Yogiji's rule, he is always ready to serve you.'' Earlier last Sunday, ATS arrested Maulana Kaleem Siddiqui in an illegal conversion case on Wednesday (September 22, 2021).

The arrest was made by ATS from Meerut while exposing India's largest conversion gang. Police said Maulana Kaleem runs the Jamia Imam Waliullah Trust, which funds several Madarsas. For this, he gets a lot of money from abroad. Maulana has been brought to Lucknow from Meerut for questioning. The UP ATS had taken Kaleem as well as his three associates and driver into custody for questioning.
