RAE BARELI: In a shocking incident, a 18-year-old girl has been arrested along with her boyfriend for killing her minor brother after the minor caught them in a compromising position here, police said.

As per police statement, the 12-year-old reportedly caught his sister and her boyfriend in an objectionable position and threatened to inform their parents about it. Irked over this,  the duo slit the boy's throat with a sickle.

The body was found near his residence in the Bhadokhar area of the district earlier this week.

Ashok Priyadarshi, the Rae Bareli police superintendent said, "Locals alerted the police to the murder since the boy's parents were away at a wedding. Throughout the investigation, his sister did not respond to our questions in a suitable manner." "When a woman police officer was asked to question her, she alleged that a local youth had made a robbery bid at her house. She said that when the youth failed to get money, he attacked them and killed her brother."  

When the young man described by the woman was apprehended by the police, it turned out that he was really in Lucknow at the time of the occurrence, which was supported by the position of his mobile phone.

The sister, who gave a different account, was questioned once more, and the police searched the mobile phones that were in use nearby.

"We zeroed in on two numbers, both of which were issued to another youth, who used to visit the girl regularly," said SHO, Bhadokhar, Rajesh Singh. A police team, along with forensic and cyber experts, investigated the home and found a cell phone and a sickle wrapped in a blood-stained cloth.
