The crime case that has come up recently is from Behat police station area of Saharanpur district. In this case, a married woman is thrown down from the roof of her house by her in-laws when the dowry demand is not met. The family admitted the woman to the district hospital. In this case, the victim's father has filed a report against 6 people, including husband, mother-in-law, father-in-law. In the report recorded in Kotwali, Shyamlal Putra Dwarka Prasad, a resident of Usand village in the area, said, 'On February 10, 2019, her daughter Swati was in the police station of Chilkana area with Vikas, resident of Dundauli Kheda. They spent 20 lakh rupees in the wedding, including one lakh rupees in cash, jewelry worth four lakh rupees.'

Now, in this case, the father has alleged that even after giving so much dowry, the people of his daughter's in-laws started harassing her for bringing her one lakh rupees and car from the maiden. His daughter started being harassed mentally and physically. When he came to know, he went to her in-laws and gave 5 lakh rupees to son-in-law Vikas. A few days later, his daughter was again harassed. His daughter was beaten up and left her home. After this he held a panchayat, some responsible people decided in it.

There is also an allegation in this case, 'at around 8 o'clock on the night of 8 November 2019, his daughter was brutally beaten up with sticks and thrown down from the roof of the house by the people of her in-laws'. As soon as the family came to know about this, he reached the daughter-in-law's daughter and admitted her to the district hospital. Now the police is investigating this matter.
