LUCKNOW: The government of Uttar Pradesh will formulate a new policy for the prevention and management of Covid-19 in consultation with the state-level health advisory committee. This has been said by UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said.

The CM said, "With no fresh Covid cases in the state in the last 24 hours and the situation well under control, the changing trend of Covid should be closely monitored.

The Medical Education and Health Department should coordinate their preparations better. The state-level health advisory council will be consulted in making the decision regarding the new policy. "Even if new Covid cases have increased across several nations during the past week, the situation in Uttar Pradesh is still under control," he said.

In December, the state's Covid-positivity rate was 0.01 percent. There are now 62 active cases in the state as a whole. 27,208 tests were performed in the last 24 hours, however, not a single new case was confirmed. 33 patients made a full recovery in the same time span. The Chief Minister instructed officials that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's tracing, testing, treating, and immunisation approach to preventing Covid-19 has been effective.

"Covid procedure must be adhered to religiously. Make people aware that wearing face masks is prohibited in crowded public spaces like markets, hospitals, buses, and train stations.

He added that Covid-19's new variation needs to be checked constantly. The genomes of all newly detected cases should be sequenced immediately. There should be more testing each day. The Chief Minister noted that older people and those with significant, terminal ailments will need to take extra care.

Regarding rural areas, he said: "Village heads, Asha, Anganwadi workers, and ANMs collaboration should be taken in accordance with the spirit of the Prime Minister's mantra of 'Jahan Bimar, Wahin Upchar' (giving sick people treatment closer to their homes). So far, these people have contributed significantly to the struggle against Covid-19. They must once more make a significant contribution in order to identify sick people in need of hospital or doctor care who are exhibiting Covid symptoms in their communities. The Chief Minister said, "Old roles should not be eliminated and new posts of expert doctors must be created by looking at the updated requirements of medical institutions."

"It should be ensured that the state does not experience a scarcity of life-saving medications. The Medical Supplies Corporation needs to operate more efficiently. The Health Minister should conduct an assessment of the department's operations, he said.
