Lucknow: Former Samajwadi Party (SP) MP and Shaista Parveen, the absconding wife of mafia Atiq Ahmed, has been declared a mafia by the Uttar Pradesh Police. The police in their FIR have registered Shaista Parveen as a mafia criminal. It has also been written in the FIR that Atiq's wife Shaista Parveen keeps a shooter with her.
Sabir, the named accused in the Umesh Pal murder case and carrying a reward of Rs 5 lakh, has been described as the shooter of Shaista Parveen. Rajesh Kumar Maurya, in-charge of Dhumanganj police station in Prayagraj, lodged an FIR in his own police station on May 2. Shaista Parveen lodged an FIR after raiding the house of Atin Zafar, a friend of her son Asad's. After the murder of Atiq Ahmed on 15 April, Shaista stayed at Atin Zafar's house on 16 April to attend his funeral.
After the arrest of Atin on May 2, the police on its part filed an FIR against her. In this FIR, Shaista Parveen has been declared a mafia criminal. It has also been written that Atin had given shelter to Shaista Parveen and her shooters. Prize criminal Sabir has been written as the shooter of Shaista Parveen. It is being told that soon the police is preparing to include Shaista Parveen's name in the list of mafias.

Even before this, the police had received information that Shaista was hiding in Hatua area of ​​Prayagraj, when the police reached there, women wearing burqas surrounded the team. Due to this the police could not proceed further and taking advantage of this, Shaista Parveen ran away. Sources had told that, when the local people got information that the STF team was coming to raid, then by announcing from the local mosque, the women were asked to leave the house and gather on the road.
