Varanasi to host Month-long Kashi Tamil Sangamam on November 17

LUCKNOW:  Starting on Thursday, November 17, Varanasi will host the month-long Kashi-Tamil Samagam.

As part of "Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav" and to sustain the spirit of "Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat," the government of India is organising the samagam.

There will be a "samagam" from November 17 to December 16. Banaras Hindu University is the program's host institution, and the programme is organised by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The Kashi Tamil Samagam will deepen national unity, and the BHU is prepared to receive Tamil Nadu residents, said  Nodal Officer Prof. HCS Rathore. 

There will be a dozen groups consisting of  about 200 members each comprising students, teachers, artisans, those from literature, culture, art, commerce &  industry and so on. During their stay in Varanasi, the delegates will attend cultural events, visit Sri Kashi Vishwanath Dham Ganga Aarti, and  visit Sarnath, apart from indulging in other activities planned for them. During the event, seminars and discussions on many facets of these two historic expressions of Indian culture will be organised by experts.

The Kashi-Tamil Samagam aims to establish relationships between the peoples of these two regions, bring the two traditions of knowledge and culture closer to one another, and recognise the value of each and every language in India.

Apart from Varanasi, the guests are also scheduled to visit the cities of Ayodhya and Prayagraj.
