Bhopal: Voting for the by-elections in 28 assembly constituencies in Madhya Pradesh started at 7 am today amid tight security arrangements, which will run till six in the evening. According to official sources, voting started at 9 thousand 361 polling booths and more than 63 lakh 67 thousand voters will be able to vote following the security measures related to Covid. Counting of votes will be done on November 10 at the respective constituency or district headquarters.

A total of 355 candidates are at stake in the by-election, including 12 ministers. For the voting, 13 thousand 115 ballot units, 13 thousand 115 control units and 14 thousand 50 VVPets have been provided in the districts. Mockpol also took place in the presence of polling agents of the candidates 90 minutes before voting began. In the by-election, an equal number of polling parties have been arranged for 9 thousand 361 polling stations. 30% polling parties have been kept as reserves.

Strong security arrangements have been made. Police, magistrates, mobile teams have been deployed. All systems of Corona epidemic prevention have been ensured. After voting, EVMs will be brought to the Strong Room. EVM machines will be sealed while videography in the presence of a central observer.
