Mumbai: Heavy rains is expected in Maharashtra's capital Mumbai for the next two days. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert on Thursday. According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rains are expected in the next two days in Mumbai and the surrounding coastal areas and an orange alert has also been issued. Orange alert means that officers should be prepared to handle any situation arising from the weather. In Ratnagiri district, which has recently suffered an outbreak of Nisarg cyclone, there may be heavy rains on Friday.

Not only Mumbai, Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) says that there will be heavy rainfall in many areas of Eastern India and Northeast India in the next 5 days. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain in Delhi in the next 2-3 days. Apart from this, there may be heavy rains in Goa, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Madhya Maharashtra in the next 4-5 days. The Indian Meteorological Department says that there may be rain in Delhi by the end of this week.

Rainfall in the northwest subdivision was 104 per cent of the long term periodic average (LPA) and in the south it was 108 per cent of the LPA. The Meteorological Department has predicted 103 percent LPA rainfall in July. According to the Meteorological Department, good rains are expected in July. Two cyclones are forming near the coast of Gujarat and over East-Central India. Due to this, there will be good rains in five to ten days in Central and South India.
