HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Airport witnessed a unique visitor last night. The Airbus Beluga, the world's largest cargo plane, reached Hyderabad Airport on Sunday.
The whale-shaped Beluga reached at Hyderabad International Airport on December 4 and will remain until 7:20 p.m. on December 5, 2022. Special arrangements were made by GMR authorities for the airport's landing, parking, and take-off.
The Airbus Beluga is well known for its ability to transport large amounts of cargo. The world's largest cargo plane, the Antonov An-225, made its first landing in India in May 2016 at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad.
Hyderabad Airport was selected based on the strength of its infrastructure and technical parameters.
The airport authorities made special arrangements for its landing, parking and take-off. The Airbus Beluga is known for its ability to transport oversized air cargo.
NOtably, the world's biggest cargo aircraft Antonov An-225 made its first landing in India at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in May 2016. Hyderabad Airport was selected based on the infrastructure strength and technical parameters, the airport operator said.
