KIEV: Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky has urged his country's citizens to keep fighting Russia in his latest video message, as Moscow's invasion of Kiev enters its seventh day. "Every occupier should know: they will face a harsh pushback from the Ukrainians," the President declares in a video released late Wednesday night on Facebook.

We are a nation that disrupted the enemy's plans in less than a week... but we were able to stop them." According to reports, Zelensky told civilians from an unidentified location that Russian personnel arrested in Ukraine "do not know why they are here" and that "enemy soldiers are fleeing back to Russia."

He referred to the troops as "confused children" who were being "used" by their Russian commanders. The President congratulated residents of Konotop, Bashtanka, Energodar, and Melitopol for allegedly blocking highways to prevent Russian forces from arriving.

Kiev was apparently rocked by at least four explosives on Thursday morning, just hours after Zelensky's video address, the report read. Two of the four blasts occurred in the city centre, while the other two occurred near a metro station.

Following the blasts, air raid sirens could be heard throughout the capital city. On the same day, Mayor Igor Kolykhaev of Kherson, a significant port city in southern Ukraine, said that Russian troops had taken control, making it the first major city controlled by Moscow since the invasion began on February 24.
