Lucknow: The Income Tax department team has raided the houses of several businessmen in Lucknow. 3 crore stake drawn from two locations. The raids continued till late in the night. Two businessmen are being questioned. According to information received, raids have been conducted at the hideouts of a total of four persons including two traders in the Rakabganj area. 2.70 crore from one hideout and Rs 30 lakh cash at the other.

It is being reported that evidence was found in respect of some businessmen in Lucknow during the recovery of Rs 65 lakh in Gonda two days ago. It was learnt that these traders are related to the hawala business. Based on this clue, the Income Tax Department raided the hideouts of these traders. Sources said the income tax department has received several other important inputs during the raid. Based on these inputs, raids are likely to be conducted in some other districts of the state soon.

In UP, the heat of assembly elections is currently at its peak. The Income Tax Department is also looking fully active amidst these heats. In Kanpur and Kannauj, the raids on the hideouts of perfume trader Piyush Jain continued with the seizure of crores.
