Actor Steve Burton, known for his roles in 'General Hospital' and 'Days of Our Lives,' has finalized his divorce from ex-wife Sheree, marking the end of their legal ties.

The official court records obtained by People confirmed the dissolution of the 53-year-old actor's marriage to Sheree. The terms of their divorce settlement encompassed shared legal and physical custody of their minor children.

As part of the agreement, Burton is obliged to pay $12,500 monthly in child support for their two youngest children, Jack and Brooklyn, until April 2024. Subsequently, the monthly support reduces to $10,000. Both parties waived any claims to spousal support, with Sheree receiving $50,000 in retroactive assistance.

The soap opera star's spokesperson exclusively disclosed to People in July 2022 that Burton had initiated the divorce proceedings. Having met on the set of 'General Hospital,' the actor and Sheree tied the knot in 1999.

Court records further detailed Burton's filing for divorce in Orange County Superior Court on July 7, 2022. Notably, the couple did not have a prenuptial agreement. Burton cited irreconcilable differences and listed their official separation date as March 1.

In the legal documents, Burton sought shared legal and physical custody of their children Jack, Brooklyn, and Makena, aged 20. However, he clarified that Sheree's pregnancy at the time of filing did not involve him.

Additionally, Burton requested the court to terminate any potential spousal support for both parties post-divorce.

This move came after Burton surprised fans by confirming the separation from his fitness professional wife in May via an Instagram Story. Addressing the situation, he clarified that while they were separated, Sheree was expecting her fourth child, which was not his, emphasizing their ongoing commitment to co-parenting their three children and requesting privacy.
