After splitting from Taylor Swift, Joe Alwyn is making a statement.
The 32-year-old English actor ventured out in a black suit, sunglasses, and light pink satin shirt to attend a dinner organized by Hedi Slimane, artistic director of Celine, during the 2023 Cannes Film Festival in France.
His attendance at the event hosted by the high-end brand was his first public appearance since his six-year relationship with Swift, 33, ended in April as the singer started her sold-out Eras tour. After The Favourite star was absent from all of her early tour appearances, rumors of a breakup started to circulate.

This was the actor's first outing since remaining mute throughout the widely publicized breakup, which attracted media attention. At a Celine dinner in Cannes that was hosted by artistic director Hedi Slimane, the actor looked dapper in a light pink blouse and a black suit. He appeared in photos taken for the company's Instagram Stories alongside a number of other celebrities.
Even though they were known for keeping their romance a secret, the two frequently worked on the 2020 sister albums Folklore and Evermore. Alwyn, who wrote a number of songs under the moniker William Bowery, contributed to each project.
A source told PEOPLE shortly after Swift and Alwyn's breakup that the reason for their eventual breakup was "differences in their personalities." The informant continued by saying that after leaving their epidemic "bubble," the pair realized they "weren't the right fit for one another."

Taylor's ongoing The Eras tour is still going strong. Matty has recently been seen at numerous of her performances, and the two also left a recording studio together, sparking rumors among fans. For her Eras Tour, Taylor is now on the road across the US. It has 52 stops spread throughout 20 cities.
