Haridwar: A shocking incident has come to light from Haridwar district of Uttarakhand, where a farmer was brutally murdered. An elderly farmer was brutally murdered when he went to a farm in village Kheldi in Bahadrabad area. Both hands of the farmer were chopped off with a sharp weapon. Thereafter, the criminals tried to burn his body. According to the police, prima facie it is being said that the murder is due to mutual rivalry.

Rajpal (70), son of Atru, lived with his family in village Kheldi, police said. Like every day, he went to the farm on Monday morning. When he did not return till night, the family got worried. Thereafter, Rajpal's grandson Vansh reached the farm. Rajpal's body was lying in a pool of blood in the field. Both hands were chopped off with a sharp weapon and the torso was burnt. On receiving information from the grandson, other family members rushed to the spot. Subsequently, it was reported to the police. CO Niharika Semwal rushed to the spot along with the police force. The CO said that the murder will be revealed soon. The body suffered around 30 per cent burns, he said.
