Dumka: Mahrun Khatun alias Mahrun Biwi, mother of Armaan Ansari, the main culprit in the rape and murder of a tribal girl in Jharkhand's Dumka, has also been arrested and sent to jail by the police. On September 2, the body of the tribal teenager was found hanging from the tree. Armaan Ansari is accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl and killing her by hanging her body from a tree when she became pregnant and pressured him to marry her. Armaan Ansari, the main culprit in the case, was arrested on September 3.  

His mother was sent to jail on Tuesday. He was arrested from Murgathali village in Dumka. Police said That Armaan Ansari's mother has also been found involved in this scandal. She was at her residence on the night of the incident. She didn't want her son Armaan to get married to a tribal teenager. The criminal's mother had absconded since the incident. Due to not being able to arrest her, the station house officer of the OP, Sujit Oraon, had to left from the police station. The new SHO, Aakrashtha Aman, along with the SIT team, raided the house of the criminal's mother, Chitragadia and other places to arrest her. Finally, the police succeeded in arresting her from Murgathali village.

On the other hand, the SIT team is constantly interrogating the main culprit Armaan Ansari, who was taken on a 72-hour remand, at a secret place. According to police sources, Armaan Ansari is adamant about the confession statement he gave due to his arrest on September 3. He confesses to sexual abuse and the ganging up of the teenager. Here, the police have not been able to spew anything special from him about the murder of the girl so far.
