Amit Shah presents a proposal to extend the President's rule in Jammu and Kashmir

NEW DELHI: Amit Shah, appointed as Home Minister in the Modi government 2.0, has presented a proposal to extend the president's rule in Jammu and Kashmir and the 'J&K Reservation Act, 2004' amendment bill in the Rajya Sabha on Monday. The two resolutions were earlier passed in the Lok Sabha on Friday.

In the Rajya Sabha, the Samajwadi Party (SP) supported the BJP's proposal. In the Rajya Sabha, Samajwadi Party (SP) member Prof. Ram Gopal Yadav has said that his party supports the Central government's bill to extend the period of President's rule in Jammu and Kashmir by another six months. On the other hand, BJP ally JD(U) also expressed its support for extending the President's rule in Jammu and Kashmir.

JD(U) MP Ramchandra Prasad said in the Rajya Sabha that there would have been a lot of work under President's rule. He said, "While I was a collector, I have worked in 4 districts of UP. He said the fax machine was doing a lot of work during the Congress regime. The governor's proposal was signed by the current president at night.
