Mumbai: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday arrested their sub-inspector for accepting bribes from Anil Deshmukh's team to influence the preliminary probe into corruption allegations against the former Maharashtra minister Anil Deshmukh. This has been informed by the authorities. In fact, recently, he said, "Earlier, the CBI had registered an FIR against Deshmukh's lawyer Anand Daga and their sub-inspector.''

In fact, CBI spokesperson RC Joshi says, "The CBI has registered a case against their sub-inspector, a lawyer from Nagpur, and some unidentified persons on some charges including bribery.'' He further said, "The CBI today arrested the sub-inspector during the investigation of the case. The said advocate is being questioned. Raids were conducted in Allahabad and Delhi.'' Let me tell all of you that the report of the preliminary inquiry into the alleged clean chit to Anil Deshmukh was leaked on Saturday night.

Officials say, "The CBI has launched an inquiry into the leakage of the report which has so far revealed that Deshmukh's team allegedly tried to influence the preliminary investigation (PE) against a sub-inspector rank officer of the agency by allegedly bribing him.'' Let me tell all of you that last Wednesday, the central agency questioned Deshmukh's son-in-law Gaurav Chaturvedi and lawyer Anand Daga over their investigation and an FIR was lodged thereafter. He said the CBI has not yet come to know about Chaturvedi's involvement and was allowed to leave.
