The Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) has issued a press release warning people about fake ‘Anti-Radiation Pack’ or ‘Rice Puller’ is fraudulent and is a way to cheat money. DAE made it crystal clear to the people that these fake products have no connection with BARC/DAE.

The press release said, “It has been noted that some fraudsters selling material with dubious names of "Anti-Radiation Pack', Rice-puller' etc., which they claim to have radioactivity and certified by Bhabha Atomic Research Center BARC/ Department of Atomic Energy DAE. Claiming that it has power to bring in fortune, the fraudsters cheat unknowing people after taking large amount of money from them”. Few people sell these materials claiming a good fortune and it has no connection with DAE or BARC.

It also conveyed information as a warning to the public that possession of any radioactive material without the permission is punishable. “Public shall bear in mind that possession of radioactive material without permission from Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) is illegal and punishable offence under Atomic Energy Act 1962”.
