Mumbai: The battle over the recitation of Hanuman Chalisa continues in Maharashtra. Mp Navneet Rana has also been implicated in this battle. On Saturday, Navneet Rana and her husband Ravi Rana were arrested by the Mumbai Police and were produced before a Bandra court today. The court ordered the two to be sent to jail by May 6. Navneet Rana had said that she will recite Hanuman Chalisa outside Matoshree, the house of CM Uddhav Thackeray. He gave time till 9 a.m. on Saturday. But even before that on Saturday, Shiv Sena workers had gathered at her house in Khar, due to which she could not get out of the house. Then, in the evening, the Mumbai Police arrested her along with her husband.

On Saturday, the police arrested MPs Navneet and Ravi Rana under Section 153A for promoting enmity between two groups on the basis of religion. Police reached Khar police station around 5.30 pm with the Rana couple. However, late at night, he was taken to the Santa Cruz police station.

On Sunday, both were produced before a Bandra court. Police custody of both of them was sought which was rejected. The court ordered the duo to be sent to judicial custody till May 6. The bail hearing will be held on April 29. Let us tell you that another case has been filed against Navneet Rana. An FIR has been registered against him under Section 353 of the IPC. Navneet Rana has been charged with interfering in government work. Earlier on Saturday, after a day-long uproar, the police had arrested Navneet Rana and her husband Ravi Rana.
