As she accepted the Women of Vision Award, Meghan Markle referred to the motto of Queen Elizabeth II.

Meghan Markle gave an on-stage acceptance speech at the Ms Foundation for Women award gala in New York, which celebrated its 50th year.

At the 2023 Women of Vision Awards: Celebrating Generations of Progress & Power on Tuesday night in New York City, Meghan Markle made an entrance wearing a strapless gold gown. She and her husband Prince Harry attended as one of the evening's honors.

Pictures from the occasion quickly spread online because Meghan looked gorgeous in a sparkly Johanna Ortiz gown with a tiny diamond cutout on the front. She finished the look with gold and diamond jewelry and a pair of black strappy heels. Prince Harry was also present by her side in a navy blue suit, and was also accompanied by Meghan's mother Doria Ragland.

Meghan said, “It’s never too late to start. You can be the visionary of your own life… There is still so much work to be done. I am a woman who remains inspired and driven by this organization. It allowed me to recognize that part of my greater value and purpose in life was to advocate for those who felt unheard, to stand up to injustice, and to not be afraid of saying what is true and what is just and what is right.”

The Duchess of Sussex made her first public appearance at this occasion after deciding not to attend King Charles III's coronation in the UK. Prince Harry, who was seated two seats behind his relatives, attended the event. Many even remarked that Prince Harry skipped the entire ceremony without speaking to either his father King Charles III or his brother Prince William, and left as soon as it was done to attend his son Archie's birthday party in the United States.

The Duchess of Sussex received the Women of Vision Award from Gloria Steinem, the co-founder of the Ms. Foundation for Women, that evening, and Meghan was a guest of honor, according to sources.“her global advocacy to empower and advocate on behalf of women and girls.” Picking up her award, Meghan took the stage to deliver an acceptance speech where she called for finding the courage to fight for equity.
