A 6-year-old child was allegedly raped and then murdered by a 15-year-old teenage boy in the Hailakandi area of Assam in a recent shocking incident.

The incident occurred in Assam's Sulranicherra region, which is part of the Hailakandi district. The two apparently got into a quarrel, and the guy allegedly took the girl to the forest, sexually assaulted her, and murdered her there. The victim girl was reported missing on February 9th, according to several accounts, and people were looking for her. After a three-day search, Hailakandi police discovered the girl's body on Saturday, February 12th.

On the 9th of February, the girl was playing in her neighbourhood with other children when she disappeared, according to police officials based on initial investigation. The girl's corpse was discovered in a woodland region near Sulranicherra, according to Gaurav Upadhyay, the Hailakandi district's SP (superintendent of police). Before she died, the girl was seriously injured, according to police. Officials then sent the deceased to the Hailakandi Civil Hospital for a post mortem report and other medical examinations.

The police, on the other hand, were successful in finding and arresting the accused. He is charged under several relevant and serious IPC sections, including Section 302 and the POCSO Act (Protection of Children From Sexual Offenses). The rape and murder case would be handled under the Juvenile Justice Act, officials added, because the accused is a minor. For further details regarding the situation, an autopsy report is being awaited. According to the authorities, the little child, who is 15 years old, accepted his crime and told them everything that occurred during the incident.
