Lucknow: Four teachers of Saket College in Ranamnagari Ayodhya were given acid mixed with water by a Class IV employee. This worsened the condition of all the teachers. They were examined at the Medical College after initial treatment at Shriram Hospital. In the investigation, the effect of acid in the internal part of the body has been confirmed.

Dr. Ashok Kumar Rai, Head of law department of Saket College, along with three other teachers Dr Sudhir Rai, Dr Janmejay Tiwari and Dr Mehndi were sitting in the principal's room. At this time, the principal of the college was not in his room. All the professors, who were reeling under the scorching heat, ordered water from the class IV employee. As soon as these professors took a few sips of water, they felt a strange taste, but they drank a few sips nonetheless. Out of these, Dr. Ashok Rai's  health deteriorated a lot. He was first taken to Shriram Hospital. After this, all of them were brought to Rajarshi Dashrath Medical College for treatment. All the teachers in the medical college underwent endoscopy. The investigation revealed that there was an acid attack in the inside of the body.

In this regard, when the Principal of the college Dr. Abhay Kumar Singh said that some other substance, not acid, may have been given by the peon due to human error. A show cause notice has been served to the accused employee. No complaint has been made to the police so far.
