Bengaluru: Karnataka BJP unit president BS Yeddyurappa, who is going to be sworn in as CM at 6 p.m. after claiming to form the government in Karnataka, has changed the spelling of his English name. The veteran BJP leader is said to have changed the spelling of his name for good fortune in 2007. Before that, his name was BS Yeddyurappa.
In 2007, he added D (D) to his English name instead of 'I'. This gave him his name Yeddyurappa. Now, by changing the name Yeddyurappa, he has adopted the name of the predecessor Yeddyurappa. It is also said that he had changed his name six months ago. However, there is no official confirmation in this regard.
In Karnataka, the BJP has staked claim to form the government on Friday. BJP veteran B Yeddyurappa arrived at governor Vajubhai Wala at around 10 a.m. to stake claim to form the government in the state. He also demanded the Governor to be sworn in today. The swearing-in ceremony will be held at 6 pm in which the new BJP government will be sworn in. B.S. Yeddyurappa to be sworn in as CM.
