BANGALORE: The Wilson Garden police have detained a 25-year-old construction company accountant for allegedly strangling his female acquaintance to death on March 14 following an alleged sexual assault at her Wilson Garden home.
The victim and Manoj have been dating for the past 12 months, according to the authorities. The accused was an accountant for a construction company, whereas the victim was employed for a pharmaceutical company. They got along on Facebook and started dating.
The victim recently announced to Manoj that she was engaged to another man. Accusing her of adultery, Manoj allegedly went to her house when she was home alone and sexually attacked her before suffocating her to death.
Thereafter, the acused returned to his house and made an attempt to hang himself.
The victim's family members discovered her laying unconscious and transported her to the hospital in the meantime. After examining her, the doctor pronounced her brought dead and discovered assault wounds on her privates.
The police located Manoj, who is healing in a hospital, as a result of their complaint. He was detained for rape and murder while a post-mortem report was being prepared for further inquiry.
