Amritsar: Punjab CM Charanjeet Singh Channi has announced financial assistance to the red fort violence accused. Delhi Police had arrested 83 accused after violence erupted during a tractor rally to protest against the Centre's three agricultural laws on Republic Day this year. The Channi government has announced two lakh rupees each as compensation to the accused.

The state government's decision has created political turmoil in Punjab. Punjab BJP General Secretary Subhash Sharma has condemned the Channi government's decision and said, "The red fort where violence brought shame to the entire country. Punjab CM Charanjeet Singh Channi has proved that the violence was sponsored by the Congress and congressional leaders were also involved in the conspiracy by providing financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh to the accused in the violence.'

Subhash Sharma further said, "CM Charanjeet Singh Channi is distributing public tax money as a relief to anti-national people. The Punjab BJP demands the Union Home Minister to conduct a thorough inquiry into the involvement of the Congress in the Red Fort violence with an NIA and find out whether the Congress is trying to incite violence through such an agitation, or that is a political agenda by disturbing the atmosphere in Punjab.'
