Due to the investigation of the case, people told the police that Renu was last seen with her brother-in-law Shyam Pathak. Shyam works as a truck driver.
The police took Shyam into custody and started questioning him. Initially, he kept talking about not knowing about Renu, but when the police strictly questioned him, he confessed to Renu's murder. Also told the police that two friends Raju alias Kunar and a minor are also involved in this murder case. On Shyam's telling, the police caught his minor accomplice from the launch station area of ​​Datia district. Murar police station in-charge Sanjeev Nayan Sharma said, Raju alias Kunar and another minor are accused of killing Renu Pathak along with brother-in-law Shyam Pathak. In remand, Shyam and the minor told that on April 17, we had reached Badagaon with a truck. Renu had come to Badagaon with food for us.
According to the minor, Shyam played the song 'Aaj Tum Par Pyaar Aaya Hai' in the truck while watching Renu. Then Renu also sat in the truck. Then Shyam started playing sad songs. When he was not satisfied even with this, he strangled Renu. Then wrapped the dead body in a blanket and kept it in the truck itself. Reached Babina via Jhansi-Lalitpur highway and threw Ren's body from the bridge into the Betwa river. Then we left for Baroda. But, I came to know that the police was looking for us, so I ran away from Baroda and came to Datia.
Police said, during interrogation, the matter of Renu's murder has come to the fore on the suspicion of witchcraft and illicit relationship. Brother-in-law Shyam told, his elder brother was also a truck driver. Brother had died 5 years ago. Since then sister-in-law started living with us. For the last few times my health had started deteriorating. I suspected that sister-in-law practices witchcraft. Also, she has illegal relations with someone. That's why I killed her. Giving information on the matter, Gwalior SP Rajesh Singh Chandel said that Murar police station has seized the criminal's truck. Shyam made the truck completely clear. That's why the help of the forensic team is being sought for investigation. The murder case is a month old. Renu's body has not been recovered yet, efforts are being made for that too. Both the criminals are in police custody. Further action is being taken by the police.
