Mumbai: A young man named Deepak, who married a Muslim girl a month ago, was brutally murdered in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra. Deepak was kidnapped before the murder and his body was later dumped in the Godavari river. Deepak Barde, a resident of the tribal community, had been missing since August 31. In this case, a person named Majnu Sheikh is said to be the main accused. The police have arrested seven accused so far.

According to media reports, the case is from Bhokar in the Shrirampur area. It is being told that Deepak had an affair with Majnu Sheikh's daughter for a long time. The girl's family was protesting against this. About a month ago, Deepak married the girl, after which Majnu Sheikh was extremely angry. It is alleged that after the incident, Majnu Shaikh along with his relatives was looking for Deepak. According to the information received, the first accused took Deepak's wife in their possession and took her to his maternal uncle living in Pune. When Deepak came to know about it, he went to Pune to pick up his wife. Deepak's family alleged that during this time the girl's maternal uncle kidnapped him and beat him up. It is being told that Deepak died during this beating and the accused threw his body in the Godavari river.

The FIR was lodged after the intervention of the BJP MLA: 

Apart from Majnu Sheikh, the names of Imran Abbas Sheikh, Sameer Ahmed Sheikh, and Ajit Sheikh have been revealed in this case so far in the police investigation. All the accused are being interrogated by the police. After the incident, BJP MLA Nitesh Rane took out a public anger march demanding action against the accused. After this rally of the BJP MLA, the police swung into action and expedited their action. Eklavya Tribal Society has also staged a protest at the SP office of Ahmednagar twice over this matter.
