Pune: A three-year-old boy had allegedly fallen into a 50-foot deep well. After a three-hour long struggle, a member of a local trekkers' group managed to rescue a child from a well. The incident took place in Makhriya Garden, Mahabaleshwar.

According to the report, The child was identified as Ayan Shaikh who is a resident of Sion, Mumbai.  The three-year-old boy had come to Mahabaleshwar for a picnic. Shaikh was coated in mud when he was taken out of the well. The mother of the boy was accompanying him to the picnic.

As per the report of  Hindustan Times', the search for the child began when the child could not be found anywhere in the middle of the picnic. After searching him for three hours, the group accompanying the boy heard his voice coming from the well.  The group informed the police about the incident. The police turned to the Mahabaleshwar Trekkers for help. A clerk at the Giristhan Arts and Commerce College and a member of the group, Shankar Dhebe stated that after receiving information about the child, he rushed to rescue him.  Dhebe tied a rope to his waist and threw it into the well and rescued the child.
