Bangalore: Efforts are on to bring the body of a Student from Karnataka, who became the victim of the ongoing Russian attack in Ukraine, to India. Karnataka CM Basavarao Bommai on Saturday reiterated that he is making all-out efforts to recover the body of deceased student Naveen Sekharappa Gyangoudar. He said that every step is being taken to bring Naveen's body back to the country. CM Bommai said his government is in constant touch with the Indian Embassy. He has also held discussions with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.

Earlier, CM Bommai had also spoken to the PMO about the issue. Bommai had said that his focus is only on how to bring Naveen's body to India right now. CM Bommai had then said that we have not received any news yet as to what is the condition of the body. "I have spoken to the PMO and requested him. I have also sent a message to PM Modi to bring the body from Ukraine," he said, adding, "Our officials are in touch with the Indian Embassy in Ukraine."

Let me tell you that, Naveen was hiding in a bunker in Kharkiv, Ukraine. He had gone out to pick up some important items. During this time, there was a sudden bombing and he lost his life. The new native was from Karnataka from Russia. This was the first case of death of an Indian citizen in the ongoing war in Ukraine after the Russian invasion.
