Chandigarh: 71 more patients died on Wednesday due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in Punjab. Along with this, the number of people who have died in this state so far has been 2061. On the other hand, 17065 persons suffering from COVID-19 are currently being treated in various hospitals of the state, of which 647 patients are in very critical condition. Of these, 573 patients are on oxygen support and 74 are on infected ventilator support.

On Wednesday, 2137 new cases have also been confirmed in the state. With this, the number of COVID-19 victims in the state has reached 69684. However, there is also information about the recovery of 1231 patients in the meantime. According to the Health Department, on Wednesday, 13 in Ludhiana, 11 in Jalandhar, 8 in Patiala, 6 in Kapurthala, 5 in Bathinda and Sangrur each, 4 in Fatehgarh Sahib, Nawanshahar and Hoshiarpur each, 3 in Amritsar, 2 in Gurdaspur, 1-1 patients died in Fazilka, Mansa, Pathankot, Ropar, Moga and Ferozepur.

Also, 2137 new cases have been reported during this period, among them, 319 in Mohali, 311 in Amritsar, 240 in Ludhiana, 210 in Jalandhar, 173 in Gurdaspur, 159 in Patiala, 159 in Bathinda, 94 in Hoshiarpur, 57 in Sangrur, Faridkot. 54 in Muktsar, 52 in Fazilka, 49 in Ferozepur, 45 in Kapurthala, 37 in Moga, 35 in Tarn Taran, 31 in Mansa, 24 in Nawanshahar, 22 in Fatehgarh Sahib, 19 in Pathankot, 15 in Barnala, 15 in Ropar. 8 new COVID-19 positive cases have been confirmed. The cases of corona are continuously increasing in the state.
