Punjab CM Capt Amarinder Singh has reached Delhi to stage a sit-in against agricultural laws. Prior to the dharna at Jantar Mantar, he reached Rajghat, where he paid tribute to Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi. Thereafter, sat for a sit-in at Jantar-Mantar. The MLA and other leaders of Congress also arrived from Punjab along with Captain Amarinder. Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu also staged a sit-in.
After the dharna, Punjab CM Capt Amarinder Singh has called a meeting of Congress Legislature Party (CLP) at 2.30 pm in Delhi. It will consider the upcoming plan. On agricultural laws, Captain said that Gandhiji had said in 1909 that the country means millions of farmers. Our intention was to meet the President. The Governor had no role in it. He said, 'Our bill has not reached the President. I had a discussion with Union Minister Piyush Goyal a week ago. Farmers' organizations have clarified that they will not harm railway services. I am ready to deploy police at stations. There has been a shortage of coal in the state due to the closure of the rail service. Due to this, there has been a shortage of electricity'. The Chief Minister said, 'We are purchasing from stock. No GST money has been received since March. 10,000 crore is owed to the government. We are being treated step-by-step. '
The Railways have banned the movement of goods trains till 7 November due to the agitation of farmers against the agricultural laws in Punjab. The Central Government says that if the Punjab government ensures the safety of railway tracks and freight trains, then only the trains will be operated. Due to the closure of goods trains, coal is not being supplied to thermal power plants in Punjab. This is affecting power generation. The supply of essential commodities in Punjab was also affected. On all these issues, the CM of Punjab has reached Delhi to stage a sit-in.
