Narendra Modi is on a three-day visit to Singapore. Yesterday he visited Nanyang technical university where he interacted with the students and professors. He discussed the development of technology and how technology has changed the lives of people. Today he went to the National Orchid garden where an orchid is named after him.

“Dendrobium Narendra Modi” the orchid is named after him in remembrance that Mr Modi visited there.

Mr Raveesh Kumar tweeted -

The orchid is strong and robust tropical which produces upright inflorescences up to 38 cm long with 14-20 well-arranged flowers.

Distinguished and well-twisted petals of the orchid are mahogany, while sepals are reddish brown and lined with a fine margin. They are beautifully complemented with an attractive dark purple lip.

Later on, Narendra Modi visited oldest Hindu temple Sri Mariamman and participated in the prayers. The temple was built in 1827. It was constructed for worship by immigrants from the Nagapatnam and Cuddalore districts of South India. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Mariamman, known for her power in curing epidemic illnesses and diseases. The temple is located in the heart of Chinatown.
