Struggling his way back into the team, Shikhar Dhawan the Indian opener is again rolled out of the team for the third test at Indore. This time it was not the selection committee that took him off the hook, but it was Trent Boult, the Kiwi’s spearhead.
Dhawan got repeatedly injured on his bottom hand thumb twice from the attack of Boult. Still he managed to open his account in the 14th bowl. He was sent to the nearest city hospital in Kolkata. The reason he did not show up today in the field is considered to be the same.
Reports tell that he suffered a minor fracture in his left hand’s thumb, and after the X-ray scan he was recommended a 15 day rest from the field which sends him out automatically.
The team’s media manager told the media that the selectors were informed about the openers injury.
