Lucknow: A major road accident took place in the Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh late last night. A private (double) decker bus travelling from Gorakhpur to Ludhiana overturned uncontrollably late on Tuesday night. 17 passengers are said to be injured in the accident.  Out of these, 17 passengers including women and children have been rushed to the district hospital by the police for treatment.

According to police officials, the seriously injured patients have been sent to the district hospital. The condition of 1 of which is said to be critical. He has been referred to trauma centre Lucknow. Officials including SP, ASP had reached the spot as soon as they came to know about the incident. In fact, the incident took place near Lucknow in Barabanki district and Kurauli bend on Ayodhya National Highway. According to the eyewitnesses, the incident took place at 10:30 p.m. last night. During this time around 100 passengers were on board the bus.

According to locals, the bus overturned uncontrollably. This led to an outcry on the bus. Locals reported the incident to the nearest police station. The police who arrived after receiving information about the accident admitted all the injured to the district hospital. According to police officials, 17 people were injured in the accident. However, the condition of 1 is said to be critical. In view of this, he has been referred to the Trauma Centre.
