Censorship in films is no longer shocking in Bollywood, these changes and cuts shuffle around Udta Punjab is obliviously as no shocker. But is it just a filmy controversy? Because, its stench really reaching in the whole Nation.  As in the country fanaticism grows far beyond the domain which forces makers to what to keep and what to be portrayed on the silver screen. This action against the film literally proving the statement “today there is a battle between Hindustan and Sanghistan” quoted by  JNU’s Kanhaiya Kumar.

Here, the question arise, why this highly polarized people poking this much tactics to incapacitate of truth. The Akali Dal is a member of the ruling BJP-led National Democratic Alliance at the Centre, and they are said to have a problem with how the film portrays Punjab. But why there is even a demand of removing the word ‘Punjab’ from the film, it’s simply because the story lies from that particular place.

According, to Quint Report, The Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC) has now held back the film's certification, demanding 89 cuts in total and removal of any references to the state of Punjab, politics or elections, in general.

As per AIIMS report Punjabis spends Rs 7,500 crore annually on drugs. 1-in-3 college students are addicts, it would revealing truth of drugs trafficking in Punjab as well awareness for the rest of the youth of the Punjab and for the nation. But why doesn't the government want us to see these tragedies?  Is it because of from the film there would be revealing of some major political figures who could be involved directly or indirectly in the trafficking, or will it expose nexus link? of course, as there are merely nine months for the Assembly Elections.

Now the time is to raise voice against the undiluted format, and it’s not just film industry duty but all of us living in our Hindustan should demand the screening of this film. Truth and truth alone at any cost. We must watch the truth of Punjab. As a film convey as no other medium can.
